SNOW GOOSE 10K

Well, I better document this to make it official! This weekend was Delta's famous Snow Goose Festival. This year I ran the 10K race with some friends. One of the hardest things about this race, besides finishing, was the sign up. I had to mark the 30-39 age group. Holy cow.....I am old!!! It was kind of an anniversary for me because it was a year ago at the Snow Goose Festival that I ran my first race, the 5K. Who knew I would still be running and would have run as many races as I have and be training for a marathon...crazy! I totally "bonked" while I was running, but besides that, it was a way fun time with the girls!! Good job everybody!:)

Oh wait, that is not all. Nice trash talk Cory! You might have defeated me this time, okay and last time, but you just wait for Ogden. You are going to eat my dust!!!! I am saving up and when you see me at Ogden, you are going to think fast. I should wish you good luck because you are going to need it!!!!! :)It is pretty cool how many snow geese stop here in Delta as they are migrating north. Of course, Todd has us out for rides just about everyday to see them while they are here. The boys love it, even Briggs. The snow goose hunt starts next weekend and I am kinda excited for that. Hopefully Todd will get a bird, and who knows, maybe I will get one too. That would be awesome!!

Dinner with fire!

Last year on Valentine's Day we had a candle light dinner with the boys and they loved it! They called it "dinner with fire"! So, I decided we would make this a tradion every Valentine's Day. We had just as much fun this year. We had spaghetti and heart-shaped rolls, and of course the best part, chocolate fondue. :) Let me tell you...it really set the mood. Jaygen was so interested in finding out what things would die if they got put in fire, Pace said we were camping, and Briggs just wanted to grab the fire. It was a total blast!!! Todd of course made Valentine's special for me too. He took me on a date the night before...thanks Todd!!! What great memories!! :)

St. George 1/2 Marathon

Most mornings when I crawl out of bed at 5:30 to go running in the freezing cold, I wonder what the heck I am doing, but it is all worth it when I finish a race! This last weekend I ran the St. George Half Marathon with my friend Tiff. We knew it was going to be a tuff course but went into it with a good attitude and had a great time. I don't know what it is about races, but I love them. I love the feeling of accomplishment. I have lots of fun running with my running group but it is even better when all my hard work has paid off and I have a good race.Todd and the boys waited for us a couple different places during the race to cheer us on. It help so much to see them cheering. Todd said that everytime he saw us we were running up hill-probably because we were. I wasn't expecting so much up hill, but we made it!! :)Tiff and me after the race...yea!!
There was also a 1/2 mile "Tuff Kids" race that Jaygen wanted to run. It was so much fun to watch Jaygen run. He took off sprinting and then kinda slowed down and looked around and then took off again. He loved it and wants to know when his next race is!!Jaygen has been telling everyone he took first place. He didn't, but he did really well for a little guy. All that matters is that he had fun!My mom also came to watch me finish. It was fun to have her there with my boys to cheer for me. Thanks guys!!! The weather was kinda rainy and overcast while we were there, but it was still nice to get away and have a mini vacation. The boys went swimming at the motel and of course we got to eat fun places.
So...until my next race!! :)
