Mullen Girls' Weekend

Me, Kelly, Melissa (baby Myles), Kris, Candace, Mary (Todd's mom)

A couple weekends ago we had our annual Mullen Girls' Weekend. It is always a relaxing getaway and so nice that the husbands stay home with the kids! We met in Salt Lake on Friday and shopped, shoppped, shopped. Then after shopping we had dinner at PF Changs...way yummy!!! We didn't get done with dinner until about 10:00 and then went back to the motel and watched a movie and chatted until about 1:30 a.m. You would think that we would have slept in since we didn't have kids or anything to worry about, but nope, we were up by 7:00 to get ready and head up to Park City. Of course we shopped, and shopped, and then shopped some more. We posed for a picture during lunch before everyone headed home.

Todd has a great family and it is fun to get together with just "the girls" every now and then. I was sure glad to get home though. It is weird how I can't wait to get away from my boys and have time to myself, but then when I do, I miss them so much and can't wait to get back home. I missed Jaygen's first soccer goal while I was gone, but hopefully I will get to see many more of those. Thanks Todd for being Mr. Mom while I was gone! :)

Finally...soccer!!

Jaygen has been waiting to play soccer for a couple years and he is finally old enough. He might have been more excited to get his own soccer cleats and soccer shin guards, but either way, he could hardly wait. He had lots of fun and did really well in his first game (If that is possible at this age). It was soooo cold and windy during their first game but the kids didn't seem to mind. Todd is coaching Jaygen's team and he is SO excited! :) I think he had a headache when they were done!! Ha Ha Pace thinks he is Todd's assisntant coach...awesome! If that keeps Pace from feeling left out, that is great! I think Jaygen will have tons of fun playing soccer!!!

He got away...again!

Well I had forgotten all about getting a trap ready to catch a leprechaun, but last night just about when we were getting in bed, Jaygen reminded me. Holy cow...kids remember everything!!! So we gathered what we could find and made a little trap. We couldn't find any gold for the bait so we used Lucky Charms cereal. Leprechaun really like Lucky Charms, right?! Jaygen and Pace for sure remembered that last year our trap didn't catch a leprechaun so Jaygen was certain that we would get one this year! When the boys woke up, they all had a green clover kiss on their cheek from a leprechaun and found green paper and gold candy all over the floor. The boys ran passed all that (except Briggs who started eating the candy right away) and went straight to the trap. They were so bummed to find the Lucky Charms gone but no leprechaun in the trap. Jaygen is still trying to figure out how the leprechaun could have got the cereal out without the trap falling on him. Jaygen said that our trap was "horrible". Then the boys found green water in the toilet, and we had green pancakes and green milk for breakfast. They loved it. I was sending Jaygen out the door to school when he said "wait, I need this washed off my face." He is obviously too cool for that now!! :) I hope I remember next year before we are ready for bed about all this so I am more prepared for the excitement. And good luck to us making a trap that will catch a leprechaun!!

9 AMAZING YEARS! (Warning: The following is mushy!)

I know it is cliche to say where has the time gone, but where has the time really gone?! Todd and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary today...wow! Honestly, I can't hardly remember life before Todd. I never would have guessed we would be where we are at now, and doing what we are doing now, but I absolutely love it. It is crazy how some things are meant to be. Todd is an amazing husband and takes the best care of me. I know family comes first to him and that means a lot to me. Where would we be without family? Todd supports me in everything I do and also sets me straight when I need to be. :) Just the same, Todd is an amazing dad. Our three boys absolutely adore him. He is so hands-on with the boys and always wants to be a part of everything with them. I feel lucky everyday that I found Todd and we can share our lives together. I love Todd more and more everyday because of the great husband and father he is!

I have a favorite picture of me and Todd when we were first married that I wanted to post, but of course I can't find it. The picture was taken in Yellowstone and we are standing in front of a waterfall. But anyway, as I was searching for it today, I totally took a trip down memory lane. I ran into some of the funniest pictures of me and Todd back in the day. We have some great memories. I know this isn't a great picture of us, and my scanner won't work so I had to take a picture of the picture to post it, but it makes me laugh so hard for so many different reasons. Todd and I just got home from our honeymoon and my mom and dad met us at our little apartment to open some wedding gifts. First of all, why is my mom in our apartment ready to take our picture, and thanks Todd for carrying me through the door! Ha Ha Todd still teases me about that night because I cried because I didn't want my mom and dad to go home with out me. I had never lived away from home until then, so I was feeling pretty nervous. Those feelings didn't last long though. Life with Todd has been awesome and so much fun. Every stage just keeps getting better and better!!!

Happy Anniversary Todd...I love you lots!
