Hurricane Half Marathon!

This last Saturday I ran the Hurricane Half Marathon with my friend Shannon. We ran around Sand Hallow Reservoir which was absolutely gorgeous! I didn't break any world records, but the fact that I finished is amazing!!! A couple months back I got another stress fracture in my leg, which is worse case scenario since we have the big marathon in just a few weeks. Shannon has been an awesome support though. I just wanted to wallow in self pity, but Shannon wouldn't hear it. Instead we have been cross training while my leg heals...hopefully. We have been swimming and biking which has been a blast. We even went on a 40 mile bike ride...awesome!! So, I feel like I am back in the game being able to run a half marathon after not really running for about 5 weeks. Not to mention the hill we ran up in this race. Shannon and I about died when we saw it, but we gave it all we had and ran the whole hill and still were able to finish the race strong. I wish I would have taken a picture of the hill...it was that big!! Thanks Shannon for pushing me! It was a way pretty and fun race. Next up...Ogden Marathon in May...scary!!!!!
Todd, my boys, and my parents came down to cheer us on when we finished the race, so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and spend the day at Sand Hallow. We took the 4-wheelers down and went on rides in the sand dunes. We had so much fun!!! Yea, I couldn't keep up with Todd on the 4-wheelers, but if we would have been running, I would have wasted him!!! :) We had a little picnic and then my parents headed home so my dad could rest. He had a new stent put in his heart just two days before which was really scary. I am sooooo glad that he is doing okay!! It was a pretty scary deal, but I am glad that the doctors found the blockage before something worse happened. It was super nice he came down to support me and spend time with the boys at the sand dunes. My dad is not one to stay down. We all love grandpa so much!!!!!

Before we loaded up to come home, the boys wanted to try and catch a fish. We just had to fish from the shore so all we got were lots of tangles in the weeds. Jaygen and Pace still thought it was fun though. Especially Todd having to role up his pants and wade out in the water to untangle their lines...so fun!!! Briggs spent all his time trying to jump out in the water and sure enough right before we left he fell in. He was a wet, muddy mess...but it dries right?!

Briggs was completely covered in sand from head to toe and everywhere in between. He liked to just lay in the sand and roll around!!

Pace loved soaking up the warm weather and sun!

Jaygen's First Soccer Season!

Soccer season flew by...literally! It seems like every game day was cold and windy except for a couple. Jaygen had his last game on Saturday and the weather was perfect, so it was a great way to end. Jaygen loved soccer! He had lots of fun with it and also loved wearing his soccer gear. He made sure that he got grass stains every game. He said that meant he played good!! Jaygen was pretty quick and made his share of goals. We haven't been around soccer much so we all learned alot about it. What is so crazy about that is that Todd and I coached...awesome I know! I know Jaygen had more fun when Todd was there to coach because he is so much "cooler", but I had fun when Todd couldn't!

I think soccer is really all about the treats they get after the game. But for what ever reason, Jaygen had fun! Good job Jaygen!! Now we will get ready for T-ball...yea!!

hApPy BiRtHdAy TODD!

Well, Todd is still getting older!!! Yesterday was his 36th birthday. Todd is always telling me that I am going to catch up to him, but I hope not. I can't image being that old!!! :)

Todd worked all day so we didn't do much to celebrate. The boys and I took some cookies out to the golf course and made a sign so all the golfers could help rub it in that he is getting old! Then we came home and hung up some balloons for when Todd got home. The boys couldn't hardly wait for dad to come home and open presents. Even though they helped me wrap them, they wanted to be the ones to unwrap them too. Todd said that he didn't want to go out for dinner, he just wanted to stay home so I made lettuce wraps for Todd's birthday dinner...they were way yummy! For Todd's cake I made a Heath Bar cake...it was yummy too! What could be better than gooey chocolate?! I just stuck a few candles in his cake and the boys helped Todd blow them out!
Happy birthday Todd! I hope you had a good one. We love you lots and appreciate everything you do for us! You are a fabulous dad and husband!!

Easter Weekend

Well, besides the COLD weather, we had a great Easter. We kept thinking we wanted to go somewhere for the Easter weekend, but because of the weather, we just couldn't get excited to do anything. We ended up staying home and had a blast!

Our Easter Bunny comes on Saturday morning, so when the boys woke up, the Easter Bunny had hid all their eggs and their baskets. The boys didn't waste any time finding their eggs they had colored and then they had to find their baskets. This is a fun tradition that Todd's family did when he was a little boy so we have done it with our boys and they love it. It is crazy that they can remember where the Easter Bunny has hid their baskets all the previous years. I forgot to take a picture of the boys together with their baskets, so I only have pictures of them individually finding their baskets.
With lots and lots of help from Jaygen, Briggs found his basket hidden behind the chair in the livingroom...what are big brothers for!! :)Pace found his basket in the bathroom behind the shower curtain. He found it all on his own, but on accident...it was way funny!
Jaygen finally found his in the dryer after getting a little help. He had told us that since he is 5 years old the Easter Bunny was going to hide his in a tough place. After he couldn't find it FOREVER, I think he had changed his mind and wanted the Easter Bunny to find an easier spot. Sorry Jaygen, that is the fun of it!!! :)

Then we loaded up and headed to the Delta City egg hunt. You can tell how cold it was. The boys had to be bundled up, but they got some good treats. Don't ever be late, because trust me, it is a quick event. We were all done and back home in 10 minutes!!

The grandkids all love grandpa Marshall!! Pace climbed up on grandpa's lap and had a little rest while we waited for Mel and Josh and their kids to come. How precious!!

Well I have some more really cute pictures to post (especially of grandma and Briggs) but I am having a hard time posting them, and I am sick of trying, so no more pictures.:(

We had an indoor picnic with grandma's yummy potato salad (it is requested every year by Todd), then did an egg hunt outside with all the cousins. They had a fun time. My boys had such a fun time playing with Braylee and Ty. I am glad they all came for Easter! Then what a better way to end the day than to have a Delta famous 10 cent hotdog for dinner!!?? We only had to stand in line for a few minutes this year, unlike last year when grandma stood in line for THREE HOURS...no joke!! We had a great Easter weekend even though it was freezing cold!!

Coloring Easter Eggs!

You would never know it was Easter time because of the snowy, cold weather but it is! We colored Easter eggs the other night so we would be ready for the Easter Bunny. The boys were really excited to color eggs, but I could not come up with a fun idea of how to decorate them. So we just kept it simple. The boys drew pictures on the eggs and put some stickers on them. Then they put them in the egg dye. They would put most of the eggs in more than one color, so their eggs turned out to be pretty crazy. While Jaygen and Pace were coloring their eggs, they kept trying to guess where the Easter Bunny was going to hide them. Hopefully the Easter Bunny comes up with as good of ideas as they did!! :) The boys had lots of fun and were pretty proud of their finished product! Briggs just wanted to throw the eggs across the room, so I held his eggs while he colored on them. We could have had a real mess!! :)
