TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME!

Well I have to say that spur-of-the-moment things are always so much fun!!

Todd was gone last week to youth conference so I loaded my boys up and headed to Cedar to stay with my parents. My boys love playing with grandpa Marshall, like always, they had a blast!!! We headed back home saturday to meet Todd when he got home. We had both only been home a few minutes when my sister called and said that Josh's work gave them tickets to a Bees baseball game that night at 7:05. It was about 4:45 when she called so I thought we for sure weren't going. We weren't even unloaded from our Cedar trip yet. Then she said they had their own suite at the game. When I told Todd that he said "We are on our way". We put the boys back in the car and away we went. I know that the Bees aren't that cool, but we had the best time ever!!

We had our own private suite stocked with treats, drinks, leather coaches, and our own balcony to watch the game. What a way to watch a baseball game?! The Bee's mascott also came to our suite to visit and the kids loved it! It was sure nice to feel like "high class" for a night. When we left Jaygen asked Todd if we could come back to another game. Todd chuckled and told him that if we did it would be a little bit different...no private suite next time! :)

Briggs spent the whole game cheering as loud as he could and eating all the treats. What a fun little guy!!!!

Mutton Bustin' (well...kinda!)

The boys knew the rodeo was coming soon and both Jaygen and Pace were begging for me to sign them up to ride a sheep. We had told them no because last year we signed Jaygen up and then he wouldn't do it. They both threw the biggest fit when I told them no and wouldn't quit bugging me about it...so I gave in. We signed them both up to ride. Well, the big night came and since it had been raining all day, the rodeo arena was a HUGE mud hole. Jaygen started crying before we even got there that he didn't want to ride a sheep because he would get muddy. Seriously Jaygen, it is just mud!! :) Pace was still hanging in until they called the kids over to the chutes to get ready. Then Pace was kinda thinking he didn't want to get muddy either. Todd took him over anyway and Todd said he did good until they were about to open the gates. Then Pace wanted off...oh well, too late Pace! As soon as they opened the chutes, the cowboy that was helping Pace grabbed him before he fell in the mud since he wasn't going to hang on for long anyway. Pace was crying and told Todd that he only wanted to be a "toy cowboy". So, I guess we don't have any real cowboys at our house and it is for certain that we WON'T be signing our boys up again to ride a sheep.


All three boys absolutely loved watching the rodeo though. We had them bundled up under an umberella and they couldn't get enough of it. I guess our rodeo days will be spent in the stands, which is perfectly fine with me! :)

Summer Games 10K

I know, I know...another race! That is what my boys are thinking too because they always get pulled out of bed to come watch me cross the finish line. I love hearing them cheer so loud at the finish line. I was curious to see what kind of time I could get at the Summer Games 10K compared to what I got last year at this race. I was super excited when I finished. I beat my last years time by 8 1/2 minutes. Oh, it felt so good!!! Todd had to work so it was just me and the boys that went down to Cedar. It was a way fun couple of days. My boys always have a blast with grandma and grandpa Marshall.

Marshall Family Reunion

Wow...reunions are so much work, but worth it! My family was over my dad's big family reunion this year. We decided to have the reunion at Bryce Canyon since my family has made so many good memories there over the years. It was a really long drive for some of my cousins, but I am so glad they came. After tons of stress making sure we had everything ready, we all had a blast! We went on a few different hikes in the canyon, played some games, went swimming, rode bikes, ate and then ate some more. :) It was fun talking with my cousins about memories they have of our grandparents since they have both passed away. It was way fun just visiting and catching up with them too. The only time we ever really see each other anymore is at our reunion.


This is what Briggs looked like after only 10 minutes of being there. We didn't even have camp set-up and he was covered in dirt from head-to-toe and basically stayed that way the whole time. Thank goodness we went swimming a lot to get cleaned off! :)

My brother Ben and his friend Natalie went to the reunion this year. It was a big deal for me because I haven't really seen or talked to my brother in a few years and my boys have never really been around him. All they know about Uncle Ben is stories that I tell them. I didn't get a great picture of them all together, but I did get one. Jaygen followed Uncle Ben around a lot and thought he was pretty neat.

My dad made a little "tow-rope" because he knew he would need to use it with atleast one grandkid to get them out of the canyon. Sure enough, Pace was pulled out and then carried out. Pace did a really good job though for being such a little guy.

My cousin Darrell has four absolutely darling girls and my boys became best buds with them. They were so good to my boys and made up some new nicknames for Jaygen and Pace - "Big J" and "Little P"

A GREAT WEEKEND!

What a great weekend we had!! Todd was busy working all weekend because of the holiday and warm weather, but we managed to squeeze in some fun! :)

Saturday morning I headed over to Fillmore with some friends to do a mini triathlon...yes a triathlon. What has gotten into me?! I almost decided not to go because we have been so busy, and I was having a hard time finding a babysitter for the boys. But I would have missed out on tons of fun if I wouldn't have gone. We had to swim 10 laps in the pool, then bike 12 miles, then run 3 miles. It was so much fun! I do have to admit though, that I used a kickboard and just kicked my laps in the pool. I am not a swimmer and don't really care to be. I am afraid if I wouldn't have used a kickboard, I would have drowned. I needed some kind of floatation device and thought a kickboard would be a better choice than those little floaty things kids put on their arms...then I would have really gotten laughed at!! :) I loved the biking and running part of the race. We finished with a good time and had lots of fun!

Saturday afternoon Todd got home just in time to hook-up the camp trailor and head out for a quick over night camp trip with some friends. We just camped on some of their family property which is only about 5 miles out of town. That was the best part, not having to drive very far. We BBQ some steaks and ate lots of yummy food, went for some 4-wheeler rides, the boys played, and of course had a camp fire. We woke up early the next morning and headed back in town for church. It wasn't a long enough camp trip, but tons of fun...thanks Kyle and Shannon!
