TEAM HOLLYWOOD!

Oh, where to begin! This last weekend a group of us gals headed to Cedar to run a 31 mile relay race...it was a blast! We went down Friday and had some great fun. Thanks to Darla and her off road driving skills, I laughed until my stomach hurt so bad I couldn't laugh anymore. Then, of course, we didn't go to bed until way late and had to be up super early to make it to the race the next morning...good times!! :)
Well, lets start with our prerace photo shoots. Elvis...Marci
Michael Jackson...Darla

Madonna...Me

Dolly Parton...Tiff

Marlynn Monroe...Amber
Yes, we really did dress and run like this. We totally won the prize for best costume. At the first of the race we got some crazy looks, but we had so much fun you know other teams wished they would have looked as crazy as we did. We were there to have fun and that is what we did!

It was super windy (and up hill) so I had to shed my wig when I was running. The wind was making it hard to keep on. I got so hot that I wished I could have shed my fish net tights, but they had to stay. I didn't mind the cone bra at all! :) I might have to wear that another time running...ha ha!

Besides winning the Best Costume award, we did awesome in the race too. All the girls did great! Marci was steller on her HUGE hills, and Darla finished the race running another HUGE hill..good job! We finished in 5th place out of the all girls teams and 16th place over all. We finished the 31 mile race in 4 hrs. 45 min....not to bad.
The race ended pretty exciting! If you notice in the picture Michael Jackson and Madonna are sprinting to the finish line to pass one final runner. We will just leave that story at that, right team Hollywood?! :)

Here is our final photo shoot. We were all still put together when we finished. Dolly still had her ladies, Madonna's points where still pointy, Elvis still had his chest hair, Michael Jackson still had his moves, and Marlynn Monroe was still a hottie! :)

Thanks girls for such a fun race and weekend...lets do it again next year!

Jaygen's First Day of Kindergarten

Jaygen finally headed off to kindergarten today. I am feeling kinda guilty because I didn't have sad tears when I walked him to his class. Jaygen seems so old to me and I actually can't believe he is only in kindergarten. Jaygen was pretty excited to start school but I know he was a little nervous too. When I was trying to get him in bed the night before, he just kept talking and asking questions about kindergarten. I also know he was sooo excited to get to wear his new school shoes. He has kept them safe under his bed for a couple of weeks waiting for the big day to pull them out! :) His teacher is Mrs. Willoughby and he came home and said she was really nice. I tried to get as much out of him as I could when he got home but all he really said is that he didn't learn to read yet. Oh...I just laughed and told him it will take more than one day to learn to read! :) Jaygen is a handome guy!!
Okay, really the thing Jaygen was the most excited about was his Broncos backpack. He absolutely loves it and couldn't wait to take it to school. He kept saying he sure hoped there was a hook to hang it on. He also said that he was only going to put a strap over one shoulder because that is what the cool kids do! :)

Maple Grove Campout!

Holy Cow! We have honestly not done anything fun with our boys this summer. Todd is way to tied up at work. So this last weekend after church we hooked up to our trailer and headed out for a night to camp. It was short...but we had a blast! Maple Grove is close by and we heard the fishing was great so that is where we went. I am glad we did because it was soooo beautiful there!!

Sunday night we cooked some yummy food and then just went for a ride to spotlight some deer. We saw a couple big bucks and the boys thought it was so cool to see them in the dark because their eyes were glowing from the spotlight. Then Monday we fished, fished, and fished. I can not believe how many fish we caught. Seriously, every cast we would hook one. It got to the point my boys were sick of it and wanted to do something else. I am sure they aren't use to actually catching fish when we go fishing because this is the third time we have gone this summer, and the first time we have actually caught some! :) They were also pretty nervous around the fish and you can see it in these pictures!!!!

Briggs was killing me!!! He loves to play any sports and he couldn't decide what to play. He finally put the frisbee around his neck and golfed with the baseball bat!! :)

Pace caught the first fish! You can't tell because of his hat, but he was totally crying and freaking out! It scared him when the fish started jerking on the pole. You can tell from Todd's expression that he was totally like toughen up Pace. Don't be a wimp...it is a fish! :)
You can tell on Jaygen's face he was totally crying too when he caught his first fish! Come on boys!!!

I can't leave out the way fun rope swings in the trees over the stream. We had tons of fun on them. Todd's first time on the swing was so funny. He jumped on their feeling pretty cool but then got stranded over the water and couldn't swing back to the shore. I was to busy laughing at him that I couldn't help him. Sorry Todd, but it was hilarious!!

I can't say I am a real fisherman because I won't put my worm on the hook or take my fish off, but I have tons of fun catching them and reeling them in...ha ha! Now you know where my boys get it from, huh?!

I thought this was so sweet! Pace grabbed Briggs' hand and helped him down the trail. What are brothers for??!!

Jaygen and Briggs
I am so glad that we took this quick trip. We had the best time together and made some really good memories!
