Pace and Preschool

So, Pace has been in preschool for over a week now but I am just getting around to posting it because I have had one of the worst things ever happen...I lost my camera!!! Well, I guess I didn't actually lose it because when I finally found it, it was right where I remember putting it so I would know where it was...ha ha! I was totally freaking out because I have over 2000 pictures on my camera...yes 2000! I have some of them printed out but none of them are saved anywhere else. If I ever really lose my camera I will lose all the pictures of my life over the past couple years!!!

Pace is totally loving preschool!! He was for sure done with all the "home preschool" stuff and ready for the real stuff! His teacher is Mrs. Edwards. On Pace's first day of preschool he was up and dressed with his shoes and backpack ready to go at 7:00 a.m. Since his school doesn't start until 11:30 it was a looooong morning! He was just so excited he couldn't wait to go! When it was finally time to go he told me I could just drop him off out front of the school and he would walk in. I told him sorry, but I would walk him in on his first day. What is it with my boys wanting to be grown up and independent?!

Pace has so many cute little boys in his class and he is having a blast with them. I feel sorry for Mrs. Edwards though...I am sure they are a handful! Of course Pace's favorite thing is recess and tells me all about it everyday. This kid has always liked to be active. He has never been into watching movies or playing video games or anything like that. He wants to be running around and bouncing or catching a ball all the time.

Besides being so excited to go to "real" school, Pace was most excited to get a Boston Red Sox backpack. Once I ordered it, he would run out to the mailman everyday to see if it had come yet. Pace thinks his backpack is the coolest thing ever!!! Pace is such a fun kid and I love him tons. I hope he has a good year. Oh, and was I sad to send him off to school...not at all! He is only gone for a couple hours and that is not hardly enough time to miss him!! It is alot different than first grade! :)

Jaygen's First Day in the FIRST GRADE!

Oh, I can't believe this is really happening...Jaygen going to first grade!!! I guess I have just assumed that my boys would be my "little boys" forever! This year is a big milestone for Jaygen because he now goes to school all day. His teacher is Mrs. Nissen. I thought this day would never come...but it did!

Jaygen said that he wanted Todd to take him to school today...and I thought well that is rude...but oh well, I am coming too, ha ha!!! So the whole family took Jaygen to his first day of first grade. I needed to be there to see that my little boy got settled in ok in his class...and he did! Jaygen is getting to be such a big boy and more handsome everyday. He is a good kid with a huge but soft heart. I love Jaygen so much!

I was trying to prepare myself for today so I wouldn't cry my head off all day. When we watched Jaygen walk in his classroom I could feel tears starting to fill my eyes and then I looked at Todd and he gave me the look like, seriously?! So, I held the tears back and by the time I got home I was good. I was kinda excited thinking about what I was going to do all day. Then before knew it, it was time to go get Jaygen and I didn't get done half what I wanted to...including my nap I didn't get! Now I am thinking that the school day is just not long enough! :)

When I picked Jaygen up he was all smiles and was telling me everything about his day...he loved it. He said that his favorite thing about the first grade is all the recesses...surprise, surprise. He was also super excited that they get their food on lunch trays, not just plates!!!

Good Bye Sassy Socks :(

Oh what have I done?! I gave in a couple weeks ago and let the boys get a kitten...I knew I shouldn't but I did! Well, I had just had enough!! I was so sick of everytime we open our door she would run in our house, or everytime we were outside she was climbing all over us, or the very worst is that we now had a stray cat living at our house eating Sassy Socks food. I know it is selfish but I had had enough. I am so proud of Jaygen with how responsible he was with her. He went out and fed her every morning without me even having to ask him. And I am so proud of Pace with how brave he was...he was still the only one that dared to chase her when she came in the house and carry her back outside...ha ha!!

I told the boys one night that I thought Sassy Socks would be happier living on a farm where she would have lots of other farm cats to play with and lots of room to run and play. It totally broke my heart when Jaygen broke down and started crying. Pace on the other hand was ok with it and wanted to know when we could get a dog. :) Jaygen begged that we could keep her at least a couple more days so I said we would keep her until Sunday and then go find a nice friendly farm for her to live on. So on Sunday afternoon, we loaded up in the car with Sassy Socks and went to find her a new home. The boys all acted totally fine saying good bye to her and I thought it wasn't going to be that big of a deal. That night we tucked all the boys in bed and nothing was said about her and then about an hour after Jaygen went to bed I heard him just sobbing in his bedroom. I ran in there and he was so upset about Sassy Socks...he could barely get any words out. I held him forever trying to comfort him and then Todd ended up sleeping with him. The next day Jaygen was a lot better thankfully and the other boys act like they could careless.

I know, I know it is all my fault. I have broke my little boys heart!! I need to really think things through before I make a decision like this again. I thought I would be a good mom to let my boys get a kitten but instead I am a bad mom for dumping it off somewhere!! I am just not a cat person and never will be!! :) I keep reminding Jaygen that he does still have his fish, Long-hair Wally!!!
