Maple Grove Campout!

Holy Cow! We have honestly not done anything fun with our boys this summer. Todd is way to tied up at work. So this last weekend after church we hooked up to our trailer and headed out for a night to camp. It was short...but we had a blast! Maple Grove is close by and we heard the fishing was great so that is where we went. I am glad we did because it was soooo beautiful there!!

Sunday night we cooked some yummy food and then just went for a ride to spotlight some deer. We saw a couple big bucks and the boys thought it was so cool to see them in the dark because their eyes were glowing from the spotlight. Then Monday we fished, fished, and fished. I can not believe how many fish we caught. Seriously, every cast we would hook one. It got to the point my boys were sick of it and wanted to do something else. I am sure they aren't use to actually catching fish when we go fishing because this is the third time we have gone this summer, and the first time we have actually caught some! :) They were also pretty nervous around the fish and you can see it in these pictures!!!!

Briggs was killing me!!! He loves to play any sports and he couldn't decide what to play. He finally put the frisbee around his neck and golfed with the baseball bat!! :)

Pace caught the first fish! You can't tell because of his hat, but he was totally crying and freaking out! It scared him when the fish started jerking on the pole. You can tell from Todd's expression that he was totally like toughen up Pace. Don't be a wimp...it is a fish! :)
You can tell on Jaygen's face he was totally crying too when he caught his first fish! Come on boys!!!

I can't leave out the way fun rope swings in the trees over the stream. We had tons of fun on them. Todd's first time on the swing was so funny. He jumped on their feeling pretty cool but then got stranded over the water and couldn't swing back to the shore. I was to busy laughing at him that I couldn't help him. Sorry Todd, but it was hilarious!!

I can't say I am a real fisherman because I won't put my worm on the hook or take my fish off, but I have tons of fun catching them and reeling them in...ha ha! Now you know where my boys get it from, huh?!

I thought this was so sweet! Pace grabbed Briggs' hand and helped him down the trail. What are brothers for??!!

Jaygen and Briggs
I am so glad that we took this quick trip. We had the best time together and made some really good memories!

GOLF ANYONE???

Just about everyday this summer my boys have asked to go hit some balls. I know they have tons of fun at the golf course, especially Pace, but I also know they love to go see their dad there. So, we have spent hours on the driving range so they can "practice their golf". Jaygen usually takes lots of breaks because he gets tired :) and Pace will make sure I am watching him and then wants to discuss every shot he takes...he NEVER stops talking! It is lots of fun watching both of them! :) Pace

Jaygen and Pace

Jaygen and Pace...I don't know how Pace can see from under his hat. He always wears it down so low.

Jaygen

What is Briggs doing while the other boys are golfing...good question?! I usually bribe him with a treat to keep him out of the way but that only lasts so long. The rest of the time you can only imagine! He basically causes as much comotion as possible! :)

Pace is a serious golfer. He always takes time to clean off his clubs...so funny!

Wait for me!!

My boys have had so much fun just playing outside and riding their bikes this summer. Jaygen started the summer with one training wheel still on his bike(I know...really brave). Now he has no training wheels and is racing up and down hills and trying to jump off the curb. He also thinks it is so cool he can ride with one hand...good job Jaygen.

Pace started riding his new "big boy" bike with training wheels this summer. He has gotten pretty good on it and can just about keep up with Jaygen and the other boys in the neighborhood. Pace calls his bike his motorbike so just about everytime he is out riding you can hear him making his LOUD motorbike sounds...so funny! I am actually really impressed that Pace can even get his bike to go since it has been ran over twice this summer. The back tire is so bent that I don't know how it still goes around. I don't have any idea who keeps running his bike over, but they really need to start paying attention!!! :) The last time it happened Pace just sighed and said, "Not again mom!"

Well, now pour little Briggs! He has had lots of fun riding his little tractor around. That is all he has left since the little 4-wheeler got ran over...I don't know how that happened either! :) I couldn't stop laughing at Briggs the other day. I was out watching the boys riding around and Briggs was pushing with his little legs as fast as he could to try and keep up with Jaygen and Pace. He wasn't getting very far, so he finally just picked up his tractor and took off running carrying his tractor. It was hilarious! He would run until he caugh up with the boys, then put his tractor down and sit on it, then when the boys would take off again, he would pick up his tractor and run behind them again. Oh Briggs, he is so cute!!! He didn't seem to care either. He was laughing the whole time!!

After awhile, Briggs decided that was enough and he came to sit by me. When he saw my camera he totally started posing for me and saying "cheese". He is quite the poser!!!
I have so much fun with my boys! I love them sooo much!!!
